How can I pay for my holiday?

A holiday is not confirmed until we have received a deposit of 50% of the total due.  You may pay in instalments but will need to phone us to pay and agree the payment plan.  We require full payment to be made at least one month before the start of your holiday.  We take all major credit and debit cards or cash.  We no longer accept cheques.

When is the park open?

Forest Glade is open for the majority of the year, providing the perfect setting for a spring, summer or autumn break in Devon.

This year we will be opening from 20th March – 15th November 2023.

Do you offer short breaks?

Yes, Forest Glade is the ideal base for a short break in Devon. Short breaks are available throughout the season in our holiday caravans and self-catering apartment (2-night minimum stay).

What are the food options on site?

There are plenty of food and drink options available at Forest Glade, if you fancy a night off cooking during your stay. We have a well-stocked on-site shop, which sells a range of fresh produce and essentials. There’s also a bakery serving tasty treats, including baguettes, pan au chocolat, sausage rolls and more.

In the high season we have offer a takeaway service for around an hour every day. We’re also delighted to welcome pop up food stalls to the site throughout the year. The vendors sell a tasty array of dishes from around the world. Keep an eye on our Facebook page to stay up to date with who is coming to the park and when.

Where can I view the park map?

We’ve created a handy park map for use during your stay. View it online or pick up a copy from reception. It gives a detailed overview of our site and facilities.

Do you allow BBQ’s and bonfires?

Barbecues and fire pits are permitted in our camping fields, though we ask guests to be responsible and keep them away from tents and other flammable materials.

We kindly ask that bbqs and fire pits are raised off the ground using stilts or bricks. Please ask at reception if you require bricks – we are more than happy to provide them.

Campfires are not allowed.

Do you have recycling bins on the park?

We take great pride in the natural surroundings at Forest Glade, and try to reduce our environmental impact wherever possible. We kindly ask guests to recycle as much as possible. We currently have facilities to recycle glass, plastic, cans, batteries, paper and cardboard.

Recycling bins can be found in our refuge area, close to the shop and reception.

What is there to do in Cullompton and the wider Devon area?

Forest Glade Holiday Park is ideally situated for a fun-filled family holiday in Devon. Our convenient location affords guests easy access to a wide selection of towns and villages as well as award-winning activities and attractions.

From the park it is just a short drive to Exmoor, Dartmoor, Barnstable, Honiton and Tiverton. The world-renowned Jurassic Coast is also within easy reach.

What beaches are nearby?

Despite our rural forest location, Forest Glade is perfectly placed for a day at the beach. There are plenty of fantastic beaches to choose from nearby. Jump in the car and head to Exmouth, Beer, Sidmouth, Lyme Regis, or Budleigh Salterton during your stay.

Can we play ball games on the site?

We encourage guests to take full advantage of our sports facilities during a camping holiday or caravan break. We have a designated field for ball games such as football and cricket as well as a badminton lawn, tennis court and outdoor table tennis.

Our on-site shop sells a range of rackets and balls if you forget to bring your own.

What is your noise policy?

We kindly ask guests to remain quiet between the hours of 10.30pm and 7:30am to ensure all our guests can enjoy a peaceful and relaxing break.

We respectfully ask parents to ensure children are back within the confines of their unit before 10pm.

What is your smoking policy?

We operate a strict no smoking policy in our holiday caravans and public areas. This also applies to vapes.

Where can I give feedback about my holiday?

We welcome feedback from our holiday parks guests following a stay at Forest Glade. You can leave a review on Google, TripAdvisor or Facebook.

Do we need travel insurance?

We recommend taking out a travel insurance policy ahead of your stay.  Covid-19 is now classed as an illness and is covered by travel insurance.  If you have to cancel your holiday due to Covid-19 or any other illness our standard terms and conditions apply.

Do you offer bike hire?

Forest Glade is a fantastic base for a cycling holiday in Devon. There are plenty of tracks and trails surrounding our park, with something to suit all members of the family.

Unfortunately, we do not offer cycle hire facilities on site, but we are able to recommend a number of providers nearby. Abbotshood Cycle Hire is situated 18 miles from our site and has direct access to cycle path along the Grand Western Canal. There are also bike hire facilities at Haldon Forest Park on the outskirts of Exeter.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes, we’re delighted to sell gift vouchers for use during a holiday at Park Cliffe. They’re the perfect gift for family or friends planning a holiday in Devon.

Our gift vouchers can be redeemed against a holiday or in our on-site shop. They are available to purchase in denominations of £10 and £50 and have no expiry date.

How many people can stay in holiday caravans?

We have a variety of caravan holiday homes available to hire. Our 2-bedroom models can sleep up to 6 people and our 3-bedroom caravans can sleep up to 8 people.

Do I have to pay extra for gas and electric?

Gas and electric are included in the cost of our holiday caravans. Please see our tariff for more information.

Can I hire a high chair or travel cot?

A limited number of high chairs, bed guards and travel cots are available for no extra charge. Please request these at the time of booking.

You will need to supply your own bed linen for the cot.

Can I bring an awning or gazebo?

Awnings and gazebos are both permitted, though we kindly ask you to let us know if you will be bringing these at the time of booking. There is a charge of £2 per night for gazebos and there is no charge for awnings.

Awnings and gazebos can only be erected with the agreement of the Duty Manager on arrival at the park.

Do you have seasonal pitches?

We have hard standing and serviced seasonal pitches available at Forest Glade. You are permitted to use these throughout the 8 months season each year. There is a nightly service charge payable when you stay.

There is currently a waiting list for seasonal pitches. Please get in touch to be added to the list.

Do you offer caravan storage?

Yes, caravan storage is available at Forest Glade. Many guests take advantage of our ‘store and stay’ service, whereby we tow vehicles to a pitch for you to use during a stay. Caravans are kept in a locked compound and monitored via CCTV.

Our caravan storage is currently full and we don’t anticipate any vacancies before 2023. Please get in touch to be added to our waiting list.

What facilities do you have at Forest Glade?

We are delighted to offer guests full use of our facilities during a stay at Forest Glade. We have an indoor swimming pool, which is the perfect activity for all ages. Our extensive grounds boast two outdoor play areas, tennis court, badminton lawn and table tennis.

Inside there is a games room with table football and arcade games. There is also an indoor soft play area, which is suitable for guests ages 6 and under.

Are there adults only swim sessions?

Yes, there is an adults only swimming session every day between 8am and 9am.

Is the pool open to local residents?

Yes, our indoor heated swimming pool is open to local residents outside of peak times (e.g., school holidays, bank holidays, busy weekends). You will need to book a 30-minute session in advance. This can be done by calling 01404 841381.

Does the pool have changing rooms/lockers?

Yes, there are changing rooms and showers available. We kindly ask guests to arrive ready to swim wherever possible.

How many dogs can I bring with me?

Dogs are permitted to bring a maximum of 2 dogs per pitch/unit unless agreed by prior arrangement.

Do you offer discounts for NHS or emergency workers?

We are pleased to offer a 10% discount on all bookings for NHS or emergency services staff.  You will be asked to bring proof with you when you check in.  Please contact us for the discount codes.

How can I make changes to my newspaper holiday booking?

If you wish to upgrade, extend your stay, book a dog in or anything else you can find full details here, and then you can contact us by phone or email.

Where is the nearest electric car charging point?

We have an 7kW electric car charger available for guests to use, situated in a handy location on the park.  Please to Reception to enquire and pay.  We ask that you do not trickle charge your electric car from a holiday caravan or on your pitch.  Staff do regular checks and you will be charged this – it is not included in the price of your pitch or accommodation.

Can we bring bikes?

You are very welcome to bring bicycles with you. Children can ride their bikes round the park. Although the majority of paths in the forest aren’t suitable for cycling it is possible to explore some of the forest by bike. There are some great cycling opportunities in the local area though – see our things to do section for more details. We are sorry but we are unable to provide secure cycle storage.

Do you have a laundry room?

We have a well-equipped laundry room in the central amenities building on the park.  All the machines are coin-operated and change is available from the shop or reception.  Washing powder is not provided but is available to buy in the shop.

Can we have visitors while we are staying?

Visitors are welcome.  There is a charge and all vehicles must be parked on the car park and not on your pitch.

Please note that when the park is very busy we may restrict the number of visitors or ask that you don’t have visitors.

What happens if we arrive late?

There is someone available at Reception or on call until 10pm.  Please let us know if you will be arriving late, after 6.30pm, or get stuck in traffic.

Please note that we do not accept touring arrivals after 9pm.

Can I park by my caravan or pitch?

Parking for one car (two cars in the 8-berth holiday caravans) is available on your pitch.  You will need to pay for additional cars.

How close is the nearest beach?

The nearest beach is Sidmouth, about 40 minutes’ drive. Exmouth is 45 minutes and Budleigh Salterton, Beer, Branscombe, Seaton and Lyme Regis are all easy to get to.  Take a look at our favourite local beaches.

Is there a charge for wifi?

No – Wi-Fi is free to guests and is included in the price of your stay.  Please bear in mind though, that due to our location our broadband speeds are not great and you may not be able to do everything you would normally do at home.

If I have booked accommodation do I need to bring cleaning products?

We don’t supply any cleaning products so you will need to bring everything.  Reasonably priced items are available in our shop.

Is there an additional charge for facilities?

There are small, additional charges for: WiFi, use of the sauna, table tennis and the games machines in the Games Room.

Is linen provided in the holiday accommodation?

Bed linen is provided in all our holiday caravans and the beds are made up for you.  You need to bring towels, swimming towels, tea towels and oven gloves.  Bed linen is not included for guests who book through a newspaper holiday promotion and you must bring your own or book and pay for linen.

What time do I need to check out?

Please be off your camping or touring pitch by 11.00am.  Check out time for all holiday accommodation is 10.00am.

What time can I check in?

You can check in to touring pitches from 2.30pm.  You may be able to arrive earlier, depending on how busy the park is.

Check-in time for holiday caravans is 3pm.  Please don’t expect to check in early as we need to make sure that all cleaning and maintenance tasks have been completed.

What is your cancellation policy?

Can I make a group booking?

We accept groups of families or extended families and friends for celebrations, school get togethers, scout families, sports teams, etc.  Please note that we do not accept single sex groups or groups of young people.  We also have strict rules regarding noise at night.  Further details can be found on our ‘Groups and Rallies’ page.

Can we have a barbecue or campfire?

Guests are welcome to bring and use their own barbecues and fire pits.  These do need to either have legs or be raised off the ground using logs or bricks which we provide.  Sorry but campfires are not allowed – they damage the grass which takes a long time to recover.  Please use barbecues and fire pits safely and never take them into a tent.

Is there any evening entertainment or kids club?

We don’t provide any form of entertainment here for adults or children.  Our guests prefer to make their own entertainment.

Can I book a supermarket delivery?

We would prefer that you didn’t book a supermarket delivery – it increases the amount of large vehicles visiting the park and we cannot accept your shopping if you do not arrive before the delivery vehicle.  Supermarket delivery vehicles are not allowed on the touring or camping fields and must be met at Reception.

When do I pay the balance of my holiday?

This is due at least one month before the start of your holiday or immediately if you book less than a month in advance.

Where is the nearest pub?

There are two excellent local pubs, both 2.5 miles away.  Please ask at Reception for details of local pubs, restaurants and tea rooms or see our food page.

Where is the nearest shop?

We have a well-stocked shop on the park.  The nearest supermarkets are in Cullompton or Honiton.  There are very good village shops in Kentisbeare, Dunkeswell and Broadhembury

Is there any public transport?

There is no public transport serving the park.  The nearest bus service goes through Dunkeswell.  The Stagecoach bus network has buses going through nearby Cullompton.   Ask at Reception for information.  We can also recommend local taxi services.

What time is the swimming pool open?

The swimming pool is open from 8am to 6pm every day.  Please note that 8am to 9am is for adults only.  Under 16s must be supervised in the pool at all times.  There is no extra charge for the pool.

Is the swimming pool open all year?

The swimming pool is open throughout the season and is free to guests on the park.  We close for the winter on 15 November each year and re-open around 20 March.  The pool is closed when the park is closed.

Can I bring my dog?

Forest Glade is an ideal location for a holiday with your pet as we are surrounded by acres of forest with lovely walks.  Some of our holiday caravans are pet-friendly and we take dogs on all our camping and touring pitches.  There is an additional charge for dogs.  All we ask is that you keep your dog on a lead at all times whilst on the park, keep it off the furniture and beds in the holiday caravans and clear up after your pet.  Please note that we do not have a secure exercise field for dogs.  Information about bringing your pet on holiday can be found on our dog friendly page.
