Celebrating 40 years 1977 - 2017

Everything you need to make your holiday

Free indoor heated pool

Our covered heated swimming pool is open from 8am to 6pm every day, with adults only swimming from 8 to 9am.  The pool is open throughout the season. Extended in 2015 it is ideal for length swimming and fun for all the family, with a separate toddler pool.  Our brand new swimming pool changing rooms are now open.
Use of the pool is free to all guests at Forest Glade.  There is no life guard on duty so children aged 15 and under must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
We are also rebuilding the sauna which we hope to finish later in the year.

Games room and soft play

Our popular games room has table tennis, pool, table football and some arcade games and is open daily from 8.30am until 9pm.  There is no disabled access to the room as it is on the first floor.
There is a separate soft play area and ball pool suitable for children aged 6 and under and the key is available from the shop or Reception.

Ball games area, tennis court and play areas

The ball games area is great for football or cricket.  We have two separate play areas, for older and younger children.  The aerial runway is great fun.
One of the good things about a holiday at Forest Glade is the safe, relaxed atmosphere where children can go off and play, with both the ball games area and the play areas well away from park roads.  The surrounding woodland is fun to explore and even build a den, or go quietly and try and spot some deer.
Why not leave the children to play football and try out your tennis skills on our all-weather court - racquets and balls are available from the shop or Reception.  Charges apply.

Shop and take away

Open from 8.30am daily (9am on Sundays) we try to stock all the basic holiday essentials, from newspapers to nappies, sliced bread to sweets, magazines to milk and toothpaste to tent pegs.  Also available are pocket money toys and gifts to take home for friends and family.

Freshly baked baguettes are available to order daily, along with croissants, pain au chocolat, breakfast brunchies, pasties and sausage rolls.

Take away food is available from 5.30pm daily for about an hour, or more in high season (closed Sundays).

Why not try a local beer, cider or fruit wine from our off-licence section.  We also stock well-priced beers and lagers, wines and spirits.  Chilled wine is always available and chilled beers are available in warmer weather.

We also stock Calor and Camping Gaz.

Bakery

Freshly baked baguettes are available to order daily, along with croissants, pain au chocolate and breakfast brunchies.  We bake these to order every day especially for you so please order in advance, preferably the day before.  We can also bake for you pasties (meat and vegetarian), meat pies and sausage rolls.

Tourist Information

Devon is a great place for a holiday.  There is lots to explore from the Jurassic Coast (a world heritage site) to Exmoor and Dartmoor, historic houses, beautiful gardens and family attractions such as Crealy and Bicton.
In our Tourist Information Room you will find leaflets, ideas about where to eat out and free newspapers with articles and places to visit.
If you just want to sit and relax with a book, we have a small 'Take and replace' library - please help yourself.

Facilities for campers

In the amenities building you will find free hot showers, washing up sinks and a coin-operated laundry room.  There is also a family shower room with toilet, parent and baby room and disabled room with shower, toilet and wash basin.

In the campers kitchen we have provided a microwave, kettle and toaster and well as a veg prep sink - great if you've come camping with just the basics and ideal for those staying in our camping pods.

A freezer for ice packs can be found in the Tourist Information Room.

Barbecues and fire pits

Guests are welcome to bring and use their own barbecues and fire pits.  These do need to either have legs or be raised off the ground using logs or bricks which we provide.  Sorry but camp fires are not allowed - they damage the grass which takes a long time to recover.  Please use barbecues and fire pits safely and never take them into a tent.

Wifi

WiFi is available on the park, provided by Club Wifi.  Vouchers are available from the shop/Reception or you can pay online with your credit/debit card or Paypal. Please note that because of our location and broadband speeds streaming of videos and online gaming will not be possible.

Reception

Please come to Reception for First Aid or anything else you want to ask - our management and staff have a wealth of local knowledge or are happy to look things up.  We have some discount vouchers available for local attractions and there are maps for the forest walks as well as information about local taxis, cycle hire, dog kennels, etc.
We are happy to post your letters and postcards so please leave them with us.

Forest walks

300 acres of pine forest are accessible from the park so there is plenty to explore and we have detailed walks taking from 30 minutes to a morning or afternoon (leaflets available from Reception).

Dogs are welcome at Forest Glade and there is plenty of space to exercise your pet, either on or off the lead.  We can provide details about local kennels and dog-friendly beaches.

Wildlife Information

Due to our location in a forest clearing on the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there is lots to see.  In our Wildlife Information Room you will find details about local flora and fauna, activities for the children and information about our latest award - we are a Bee Friendly park!  Find out about local nature reserves or where to go bird watching.

We want to know what you've spotted - add your sightings to the white board along with the date and we'll put it in our diary.

Why not let other guests see your photos by uploading them to our Facebook page or enter the Countryside Discovery photo competition.

Nature trail - we have a self-guided nature trail which takes you round some of the special features on the park - leaflets are available at Reception or in the Wildlife or Tourist Information rooms.

Telephone

The mobile signal on the park is poor, although this does vary according to which network you are on and you can find places on the park where there is a signal.  There is a public phone box next to Reception which takes coins or is free for 999 calls.  Please don't hesitate to ask in the shop or Reception if you need to make an emergency phone call or need to be contacted in an emergency.
